Tomato poori

I saw this recipe on a YouTube channel and wanted to make it but as usual got delayed for some reason and today for breakfast we were making the usual poori that’s when I decided to make these ones but my problem was that I can’t roll a round one , sis gave me an idea to roll a big one and with round cutter make small ones and we made cute and small ones

Refa told me that these poor is are epic and it was liked by everyone …. Best was you need no gravy or side dish for these pooris as they taste best even when eaten plain .


  • Wheat flour – 1 cup
  • Puree of 1 large Tomato ( Make paste of the tomato )
  • Semolina – 1/4 cup
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Baking soda – a pinch
  • Finely chopped Mint leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Oil for frying


  1. In a big bowl mix wheat flour, semolina, salt, chilli powder, cumin seeds, baking soda and mint leaves.
  2. Add tomato puree in wheat flour mixture and knead the dough well.No water is required to make the dough .
  3. Rest the dough for 10 minutes. Make small balls from the dough, dip in oil and roll them out into round pooris.
  4. Once the oil is hot, deep fry the poori and serve .

Note : You can roll big Poori , and with round cutter ,make small pooris and fry them
