Spicy Beef fry

You can substitute beef with mutton or chicken but don’t pressure cook chicken

I still can’t believe two months just flew away and School is starting next week , these holidays we were at home and didn’t go to India for the first time in 17 years for summer break …reason , kids have grown up and wanted to enjoy holidays here , I did miss going to India but no complains as this time my niece and nephew Shabana and Imaad had come down from US and kids had a blast with them and not to forget I enjoyed talking to Anees Deedi ( Haseeb sister ) over the phone which I will miss once school starts …. Moving to the recipe , I wanted to cook beef for a long time for lunch and today woke up dreaming of it so decided to make beef masala and started cooking , got a call from Haseeb that he will be home early for lunch , so decided to change my plans and make instant beef fry which requires less cooking time compared to beef masala , I was just adding lemon juice and he entered ( perfect timing )

This dish is spicy and taste good with rice and dal … Haseeb liked it and said beef is spicy but very nice…. sent some to sis house for her to taste , she said she just had a spoon as my niece Rida ate the entire thing and forgot to keep for them as she loved it ….

Ingredients

1st Step

  • Beef – 500 gms ( cut into small pieces )
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

2nd Step

  • Sliced onions – 2
  • Chopped tomato – 1
  • Sliced green chili – 3
  • Oil – 4 tbsp
  • Chopped ginger – 1 tsp
  • Chopped garlic – 1 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Marinate the beef with the 1step ingredients for 30 minutes and pressure cook it with 1 cup water ( 5 to 7 whistles ) and beef should become tender .
  2. In a non stick wok add oil then add green chili , curry leaves , chopped ginger and garlic and cook for minute .
  3. Add onions and cook for 5 minutes , the onions should become translucent but not brown add tomato along with chili powder , coriander powder and garam masala . Cook for another few minutes till the tomato becomes soft
  4. Add the cook beef and start roasting it in high flame for 5 minutes and then in low flame for another 10 minutes , till beef coats well with the masala. Add lemon juice and remove from fire
  5. Serve hot with rice and dal

Note : Don’t over cook the onion and you can add less or more chili powder according to the taste you prefer .
