Kadai Paneer Masala

You can substitute paneer with chicken , prawns, mushroom or mixed vegetables
What to cook for dinner is the most toughest question that I never get an answer easily and always it’s Mr. Vah chef who comes to help , I do make in the slight change in the recipe so that it’s liked by my family ,and dish is ready in no time ….coming to this dish , we were totally confused what to cook , that’s when sis told she will make this recipe as it looks easy
The dish tasted very good , we all liked the taste and fresh smell of spices and best was mom, she throughly enjoyed the dish and asked for second helping ( which is rare )  , Sis had to remind me to stop eating as I had to keep some for rayyan

Ingredients

  • Paneer – 250 gms ( cut into cubes , soak it in boiling water for 5 minutes, this softens the paneer )
  • Onions (medium size) – 1 No. ( cut into cubes )
  • Bell pepper – 1 No. ( cut into cubes )
  • Tomato puree –  250 gms
  • Garam masala powder –  1 tsp .
  • Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Butter – 3 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  • Cream – 2 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander- 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

To make kadai masala powder

  • Fennel seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Whole Red chilly whole – 3 no.
  • Pepper corns – 1 tsp
  • Dry Fenugreek leaves – 1 tsp

Directions

  1. Heat a pan add pepper corn, red chilly, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds dry roast these ingredients till the flavour comes out , add fenugreek leaves in the end roast them and transfer in to a plate and let it cool down make a coarse powder
  2. Divide the powder into two parts and grind one part is slightly finnier, and another is coarse powder.
  3. Heat butter in a pan add made finnier powder cook this masala in the butter along with chilly powder, garam masala powder( cook in slow flame )
  4. Add onion, bell pepper, and then add tomato puree (blanched remove the skin and cut in to small pieces)
  5. Cook the gravy till raw flavor of tomato is gone , add salt, sugar and paneer
  6. Sprinkle coarse kadai masala , add coriander leaves and fresh cream mix it well and cook for another 5 minutes till the masala coats the paneer .
  7. Serve this hot along with naan , roti or chappati .

Note : If you are substituting paneer with chicken or prawns , ensure to cook the chicken before adding it in the gravy , heat 1 tbsp butter add chicken or parents and 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and cook for 5 minutes in high flame for the raw smell to go and then add it in the gravy
We took 15 minutes to make the gravy , only pre preparation takes time
